It is very easy to set up and access Gmail emails on iPhone. In this article, we explain to you two methods to set up Gmail on iPhone. The first way is by using the official Gmail App, and the second is by using iPhone built-in Mail App.
Set Up Gmail on iPhone with Official Gmail App
Step #1: Check if Gmail App is already installed on your iPhone. If not then go to App Store, and download and install the official Gmail App from there.
Step #2: Once installed, launch the Gmail App.
Step #3: Tap on the Sign in button.
Step #4: At the Add Account page, tap on Google
Step #5: A google.com sign-in prompt will ask for confirmation. Tap on Continue.
Step #6: On the Sign in page, enter your Gmail account email address. Tap on Next.
Step #7: On the next page, input your Gmail account password. Tap on Next.
Step #8: If 2-step verification is enabled in your Gmail account, then authorize your login as per the instructions on the screen.
Your Gmail account is now configured, and you can start accessing your emails from the official Gmail App on your iPhone.
Now, let’s see the second method, i.e. using iPhone’s Mail App
Set Up Gmail on iPhone’s Mail App
Step #1: Go to Settings App -> scroll down and tap on Passwords & Accounts
Step #2: At the Passwords & Accounts page, tap on Add Account
Step #3: On the Add Account page, you will notice iPhone allows various services whose accounts we can configure and use. As we are currently setting up a Gmail account, so tap on Google.
Step #4: On Gmail’s Sign-in page, type in your Gmail email address, and tap on Next.
Step #5: On the next screen, type in your Gmail password and tap on Next.
Step #6: If 2-step verification is enabled in your Gmail account, then authorize your login as per the instructions on the screen.
Step #7: On the next screen, you will be asked if you want to allow iPhone to access emails. Tap on Allow to grant permission.
Step #8: On the Gmail screen, enable the Mail option by moving the toggle to right. Here you also have the option to sync calendars, contacts, and more, you can choose them if you wish to sync them to your device.
Step #9: Tap on Save on the top-right side.
Your Gmail account is now configured, and you can start accessing your emails from the default Mail App on your iPhone.
