Method #1: Check in the Settings

One of the best ways to check your IMEI number is to check in the settings app.

  • From the Home screen, open Settings App -> tap on General -> tap on About
  • Scroll down and you will see the IMEI number listed there.

Method #2: Check on SIM Tray

On iPhone 6s and newer models, the IMEI number is printed on the SIM tray. Use a pin to pop out the SIM tray and you will find it there. This method is helpful if your device is not turning on.

Method #3: Check at the Back of the Phone

On older iPhone models, the IMEI was printed on the back in small text. Use a magnifying glass or click a picture from another phone and note it down.

Method #4: Using Finder App on Mac Computer

Connect your iPhone with a Mac computer and use Finder App. Make sure your Mac is running with MacOS Catalina 10.15 or later.

Connect the iPhone with Mac -> Open Finder app -> select the iPhone from sidebar -> go to General tab -> locate the device

For iPhone: click on the Phone Number under the device name
For iPad: click on the Serial Number under the device name

Method #5: Using iTunes App on Windows Computer and Older Mac Computer

Use this method if you have an older Mac and are unable to update, and this works with Windows computers as well. Follow the steps below:

  • Install and set up the iTunes App on your Windows/Mac computer
  • Connect your iPhone / iPad device to the computer using a USB
  • open iTunes App
  • Click on the device icon from the upper left corner
  • Click on Summary from the left sidebar
  • Here you will find your device information, including your IMEI number.

Method #6: Dial *#06#

Open Phone app -> tap on Keypad -> dial *#06# -> tap Call button

In a couple of seconds of processing your request, your IMEI number will pop up on your device screen.

Method #7: Check your iPhone’s Packaging

If you have your iPhone’s or iPad’s box, then check on it, there will be a sticker on it with the IMEI number of the device.

Method #8: Log in to the Apple ID Website

If your device is connected to iCloud, you can check the IMEI number of your device from Apple’s website too. This is a good option in case of theft or your device is not turning on. Follow the steps below:

  • Go to from any browser
  • Sign in to your Apple ID
  • Check the list of devices
  • Click on the Device name
  • You will get the IMEI number
